The honor and horror of having a body
...
Written largely to cope, partially to explore, usually in some longer one-sitting session. So far this has been the only formula that worked.

This album came from quite a lot of different influences, musically. The 2 first gqom/hard drum tracks have their influences rooted a lot in Slikback's and DJ Lag's work. To this day I'm not entirely sure what the quintessential gqom rhythm is, so needless to say I copied it a little.
Innocent past self was made in combo of several things. Indirectly dälek and in part also our own experimental wizard vaporpumpkin at the end of the track.
The following 3 have influences from experimental grime, weightless and deconstructed club that I heavily got into. Target Practice and No Tears being probably my most original tracks from this album without any specific influences. Though in retrospect, there's a lot of Slikback & et cetera in Target Practice, even just considering the sound design techniques in those kicks that I used. It's very undeniably her, since she kinda pioneered it.
Gloria was my attempt at creating something like Noise Not War's "Blute Aus" (excellent Schranz) in combination with the work of Hivemind and Must Die.
I know we both have different reasons for it... It's one of those scary tropes that translate into reality. One usually takes health for granted until the body goes wrong. And it's all you have. You can't simply just peel out of it, leave it on the floor and grow a healthier one. And usually that change of making things right again requires you to give up that control and have someone else do it, which, considering how many times I haven't been helped is another horror in of itself.
this album is amazing hearing it all in context in one sitting really paints the idea of body horror to me. not only that but the experimentation is like nothing ive ever heard before. and closing with body horror pt. 2 felt so personal i thought you were talking to me for a sec there. audiotool album of the year right here!
Thank you so much. That's the greatest compliment I've ever received. Plus a 9 is too kind. My 2021 self is probably exploding with pride. At least I did them right in that aspect.
Thank you so much for listening and taking the time to write something about each track. You're a blessing in my life I genuinely mean that vapor. Thank you for the support.
Feel free to remix any of these. I'd explode for a remix album

Interesting view on the Body Horror Genre. Not the change is the horror, it's just having one
