Daftwill

William Lachoua

Since the early days Daftwill has been a well liked member of the community and producer of suspense-packed dark Electro and Techno tracks. Among the sources of his input were a number of Audiotool greats of those days, as can be seen from the number of collaborations he has been involved in. With sixteen collaborations to date he must be the record holder on Audiotool.

Interview

William Lachoua Place: I'm from France. I'm have been staying in New Caledonia for a year but I actually live in Paris. Age: 20 Profession: I have been working in a gas station for eight months. In October I will start studying at an audiovisual school and attempt to become a sound engineer.

Musical Style
I don't really know how to define my style: I try to vary it for each new track I make, but some guys say that my tracks have some kind of dark, trippy and psych sounds.
Musical Background
I never played or composed music before Audiotool, but I like listening to music all day long: from Beethoven to Neu!, through Dave Brubeck, Thomas Newman, Pink bFloyd and Fluke. I like to discover some old and new stuff from any style every day.
On Audiotool
I discovered Audiotool in a french High-Tech magazine more than 5 ago, when it was still named Hobnox-Audiotool. At that time, I didn't publish tracks. I just played around with the Tonematrix and the Bassline.
Message to the community
Audiotool is really a powerful website, not just because you have total access to unlimited music production tools. Only your personal creativity sets your limits. But especially because the community is really nice: attentive and helpful for helping you improve. From amateur users to master producers, there will always be people to listen and comment on your pieces.
