Nionsomnia
Nionwa Jahi
To reduce Nionsomnia to one style would be a sin. Over and over again he has demonstrated his command of Dubstep, Hip Hop - including singing his own Raps - and other variations of Bass Music. But he also produces heart-rending Trance synths and even banging Hardstyle Beats with an authenticity of style that would suggest a much more experienced producer than he can be at his tender age.

- Musical Style
- I make all types of music as long as it displays feeling or a good message. I honestly just make whatever mood I'm in at the moment. Any song I make comes from what the times have called for. What the movement of spirit has called for. So I would define my style as... movement. And feeling. I hardly ever know what genre I'm going to end up with at the end of the day.
- Musical Background
- My whole family has always been artistic in some way. Whether it be speaking, writing, cooking, martial arts or playing an instrument. I've always been surrounded by instruments and have always banged on drums, but took it seriously when I got my drum set at 10 years old. Everyday down in the basement I just devoted my life to playing music, and progressively, I got better and better. It was never something that I planned out. It was also never really something I got lessons for. It's not like I was against lessons, but looking back I guess I was self-assured so that whatever the preferred sound it came from my head, onto the drums, and out to the universe and was meant to sound like that. If I had taken lessons it would have just sounded like the preferred sound in the instructor's head that they could say was proper, but not genuine for me. From the drums came guitars, and keyboards, and little cheap radios that had cassettes in them that my brother and I would attempt to record professional-sounding rock songs on (yeah right). But at the time it was golden, because the theme of it was creation. And creation is life. From then my love for creating grew and in my freshmen year in high school my friend introduced me to audiotool. For a while I would just listen to all the artists on there while doing school work, just wondering how in the world they made all those amazing sounds. One day, I clicked the "APP" button and literally just started creating. Knowing real instruments I guess it was a plus when I saw all the guitar looking pedals that I later found were plugins for effects. And from there, I've just been learning more and more about electronic music, or even making music in general.
- Started making music
- I started making music at 10.
- On Audiotool
- My friend showed me the site. He said he didn't really know how to use it and that I should check it out. So I did.
- Message to the community
- I always felt love for all the artists on here that devote their time to doing what they love the most, which is making music. And the ones who are into vibing with the times and are open to a positive change. On your journey, have fun and learn from people, but be your own biggest critic. Don't get hung up so much on what someone else has to say, because then you are no longer going off the music that comes from your soul, but the sound that someone else will forget about the next day. Embrace self and things will flow. Because what matters more: the name, or the character behind the name?
