Thomas Valcke
Tottenhauser is one of the Drum and Bass bedrocks of Audiotool's first hour with a huge output of dark, minimal and always driving tracks. His enthusiasm has always been infectious but focused and effective: like his initiating the first international AT get-together, 2012 in Gent. People like him are a great asset to the community being a motor for its progress and inspiration - apart from creating awesome music!

- On Audiotool
- A few years ago. Back in the days when I was 18 one of my mates discovered a Rebirth demo. It was a warm welcoming from playing GTA1 all day. The demo had a time limit so in 20min you had to make all your drums and melodies and then find enough time to make a very rudimentary track. We taped all these little experiments. And listened to it until the tape was beyond salvation. From thereon I realized that everyone could make music without having to buy expensive equipment. (Instead you had to buy expensive software). So because there where better things to spend my money on, it never really got serious. Many years, already a workingman, and probably a bit frustrated in life and work. I was in dire need of a creative outlet and thought back to those moments we had with the Rebirth demo. So I decided to go and look on the Internet for free music software. And then I stumbled upon Audiotool. I couldn't believe my eyes. It had all the features Rebirth had and a lot more! It ran in your browser and it was free! I was instantly hooked. And the first 2-years the addiction went quite far. Just ask my wife. Nowadays I can control the addiction much better. But from time to time the urgency comes and then I know exactly where my medicine is.
- Message to the community
- Have fun, respect the community, be eternally grateful for the makers? Don't make music to be popular or rich. Don't follow trends. Don't care about followers, listens or favourites. Just be you and make your music because you need to and enjoy doing it.
