Vulkron can without exaggeration be described as a constant at the top of the Audiotool singles charts. Rumor has it that there were times when this was not the case. It is hard to remember them. The danceability and perfectionist production would make any festival crowd go wild, though the entertainment value of his art cannot be limited purely to the music. The anarchic, late-pubescent humor of the Fartstep inventor is always good for a laugh.

Interview:

About Vulkron :

I'm from the humble country of America, specifically Florida if you thought I couldn't be more modest. I've been on Audiotool for what feels like my whole life but is actually about 7 years. In that time I've met tons of artists, experimented with a wide variety of music genres, and I've come to really enjoy the Audiotool community. (Also my favorite pizza is three meat: pepperoni, sausage, bacon)

Which artist has had the most influence on you (on and/or outside Audiotool)?

Honestly, it has never been just one or two artists. I listen to everything and try out what I like about it. Its like I'm shopping: If I hear some phat bass that, say, Leadenshrew made, I'll either open remix or just attempt to recreate it from scratch. If there's a sample that Fluent used, I can just look through the assets and find it. I listen for what I like and try it out myself

Who would you like to work /collaborate with on and outside Audiotool, and why?

Anyone really. But I especially like to work with those who are newer to Audiotool and making music as a whole. I was only able to get myself up to where I am because of those on Audiotool who helped me and gave me critiques and advice. I just enjoy paying it forward.

Which film/game would you like to produce the score for or contribute a song to?

I've always been into the Elder Scrolls franchise, and let me tell you the music is half the reason why I play those games. The atmosphere is so well done in every single one of Jeremy Soule's productions (the artist for Bethesda's Elder Scrolls series), I wanted to make something like that myself. And I did with On Wings of Fire. As for contributing on a professional level (like having my productions in one of their games), honestly I would love to.

Have you ever had a writer's block? If so, how did you deal with it and what do you recommend to your colleagues?

Ah yes, writer's block. This has kept so many of my tracks in draft form for much longer than necessary. But oddly enough, deadlines actually work very well in my favor whenever artist's block hits. My creativity works in short bursts, making a lot of progress for maybe an hour, then ideas just don't come to me past that. However, if I have a deadline for myself (like "I need to get this published tonight"), for me its able to spark my creativity to go a little while longer before meeting the deadline, or eventually becoming exhausted. In the second case, I either make another deadline or it gets lost in my drafts. I do like going through my drafts though (i have hundreds), so I let it sit and "ferment" until a future version of me finds it and hopefully makes something happen with it.

What has helped you the most on Audiotool to improve and widen your musical horizon?

This community has helped me far more than anything else. Tons of artists have critiqued my mixes and a few years back, a couple artists urged me to broaden on music tastes. Even to this day, I'm still listening to new music that I either find or people post on my wall, so that horizon keeps expanding.

What do you like most about Audiotool? Is there anything you would like to suggest?

I really love how easy it is to collaborate with someone. Two of you can be online at the same time, or you can go back and forth editing the same draft at different times. It's flexible and very convenient. What would I suggest? Keep doing what you're doing Audiotool. You've created an excellent free platform for artists to learn and express themselves, that's more than anyone really could've asked for.

Your message to the community:

I'm just a guy who likes music. If I can do it, y'all can do it better :D Keep making dopeass music <3

Album

Track #1:

Awaken. [VIP] by synthonix

I first heard this track when I was still very new at producing music, but I never stopped loving the unique melodies and sound design of it.

Track #2:

sit back, relax by dove

Another classic, and honestly I had no clue I would enjoy the chill vibes of this genre had I not heard this work by dove.

Track #3:

Bad Juju by Tocka

Every production Tocka has made has been gold, this is just one of his works that's also influenced my sound design a lot.

Track #4:

Timestopper by looks

I grew up on Audiotool listening to this track all the time. While the sound design is very old, the production value still hasn't declined.

Trust me, you have no idea how many times young me tried recreating the sound in this one

Track 5:

Centurion [AT Day 2020] by Vault Boy and astrel

Not a classic like my previous picks, but still a helluva good production. For being made with almost 100% just audiotool resources, it shows just how powerful Audiotool really is.

Track 6:

Melancholy [HOME OFFICE] - @Vulkron

It was very difficult to pick just one track to represent my sound design, as I've been influenced by so many things. But I believe that when everyone thinks of my sound, they'll think of something similar to this.
