You should layer multiple sounds to create a thicker and more interesting soundscape. You did a good job using effects such as reverb and delay. But don't forget about using the chorus effect as well because that also makes the sound much wider and cleaner! I think some sidechain compression could help the pads cut through the mix by reducing its volume when the other elements in the mix play. Also playing around with panning for example would help too.
When you pan things it'll go into one ear, your left, and then your right. It's somewhere on the centroid. you would right click it to create an automation
