...large projects either. Hopefully this was at least somehow useful.

A great tool to add volume to elements is good EQing. For example the staccato chords have some resonant low mids. When you search for that frequency and cut a few dB from it out, you'll get a bit more high end on the chord synth, and the other elements have a bit more space to come through. That will work on every other element you have there. I know that projects like these are difficult to mix, I have plenty of my own where there's frequency overlap, so I'm not the greatest at mixing...

thank you so much for the detailed feedback! ill see if i find the time to update the song a little, back then i didnt exactly know how to mix and match that much at all so apologies for that haha, this feedback means tons though even for future projects! :)

[2] don't necessarily need, which you could remove. One key to a good mix is leveling. I'd recommend putting every slider on the centroid to -infinity dB and gradually increasing the volume until you hear the sound clearly, it's good to aim for the lowest volume where the element sounds good for less important elements, but don't be afraid to make something like the arp in this stand out a bit more. The staccato chords could be a bit quieter to let the other elements breathe.

the song is stellar minus the mix. Great composition, melodically and structurally.

Your arrangements and composition are great. And I like that you pan certain things in the mix. However, the mix sounds a bit washed and the elements in the higher mids are very dense. That auses certain elements to disappear in the mix. As I can guess from the snapshot though, you are using a whole lot of layers. Having a concise amount of synths makes mixing a lot easier. The fewer, the easier. Doesn't mean you need to reduce your layers, but it would be good to look at the synths you [1]

Really love this. Especially reminds me of Xavi.
