yeah just don't make it stand out, make it breathe but mute it a bit so it's in the background, you can do some eq automation so it pulses outside here and there :))
I can't give you much advice on mixing, as I'm still learning. I would follow @borozo's advice, but most of all I look forward to adding the voice (if you decide to add it) to see how it all fits together. But for me it's already a great job as it is, like all your beautiful and unique works

I would only want to hear the bass, drum and perc to be mixed in more and breathe a little more. The lead feels so distant, but then the bass/drum work feels kinda too muted and heavy on it.
