I tried to edit the sample alot but the vocals were just plain and simple not good because there were too many leaps and too many quick notes in succession, i tried to do what you said and change the mixing, but my mixing skills are just not quite there yet lol

Lol nah, you're fine, no worries. Maybe you should just see what you can do mixing wise and that may fix what issues you're having.
