The Super NES was the follow up of the NES.

Its Japanese Name was Super Famicom and it was released in 1990 in Japan.

In 1991 it also reached the USA and in 1992 it hit the european shelves.

It had 16 bit graphics, which ment it could display 65536 different colours as supposed to the 256 colours of the NES.

It sold about 49.10 million Units worldwide and the most successfull game was Super Mario World.
