unbounded by convention

  • I think it doesn't have any special philosophical meaning. It's a literary expression, so we don't use in everyday life. And it may give people some religious impression.

  • yes Yas that's it, 脱 = DATSU, 俗 = ZOKU, I found that it means unbounded by conventions, free, and I was wondering if it was the only meaning or does it means farther more as I found that it was kind of a philosophical ideal...

    thanx for the informations dude!

  • are you talking about "Kanji" ? if so, almost all Japanese use "Kanji" everyday. There are three types of character in Japan. 漢字 ひらがな カタカナ We are using all everyday. :D

  • HO yas .....traditional writing are you one that still use it ? it's rare if i am not wroung :) beautiful tradition .... but not everyone could master it :)

  • sorry, 脱 = DATSU, 俗 = ZOKU.

  • 俗(ZOKU) means almost "something vulgar". So 脱俗(DATSUZOKU) means "keep the distance from the world, don't attached to variety of vulgar things."

  • 脱(DATSU) means something like "go away, leave". ex. 脱獄(DATSUGOKU) means "run away from jail" 獄(GOKU)=jail. or 脱皮(DAPPI) means "molt, shedding its skin" 皮=skin.

  • no problem as Japanese characters. but we rarely use such word, so when i looking at first, i think "what does it mean?". what do you want to mean ?

  • Wonderful!
