Took a while to build. First day was spent pretty much grinding out the main song and doing the art for the thumbnail (thanks to AI). Rest of the week was spent fine tuning the song.

Ah. Well I messed up then. My bad. It'll just be another song. Just take it out of the competition for that week. I didnt intentionally do it to sneak something past someone. I just havent ever studied much about music time sigs save 4/4 and save bits and pieces for audio production. Most of what I do is just experiment with software until I get it.
Is there some video recommendations you could make so that i dont make the same mistake twice?

I looked at your arrangement. Yes, the time signature is 7/4. But your phrases don't align with it. They use eight beats. Then you cut the melodies short at the end of each section so the next aligns with a bar. If I clap the beats, your melodies fit 4/4 perfectly. If I switch the metronome on, the phrases don't align with the bars. The problem is you set a time signature but didn't compose to fit it.

Well for one it's the first song I've ever made that's not 4/4 lol.
The time sig is set to 7/4, so if you wanted to check it's there. It threw me off a little, as it's supposed to, because I had to change the drum beat and melody in such a way that it would all fit together seamlessly, despite being different. I did add a separate drum sampler so that I could use a regular basic DnB beat in there (slowed down of course). Maybe there's more to the challenge that I didn't understand?
