the solo on my newest track IS strait up Improve .. I had no idea what the Melody was going to sound like but i already knew what notes i wanted to put together, i had to work the first bar and the bar till i was satisfied .. Then i just riffed randomly shaping the notes so the looked good together and I was done.. it hepls when you can ear the notes of a piano when you look at the keys
But ill never be able to Go into a track knowing what i want to do before i do it .. I rarely every know what i want to do till i start writing because i cant see it until i can hear it if that makes sence lol
if i drink my normal Bourbon on the rocks i don't get buzzed just relax a bit but when i drink one down fast i get a nice little buz and want to go make another glass hehe .. BEtter now ..
Improve for me is fun Enjoying and A super effecive way to enjoy creating music . I do it very well .. each scale weater i know it or not has a differnt shape in my mind .. and i can hear all the notes in a scale before i ever play a note
Well I keep feeling like I can't make anything new again, so theory isn't really all that useful. Rules are required for jazz though. Jazz has so many rules and the rules are designed to allow for improv. I wish my hands could play again, but this is what I've got now. It's like a big puzzle where I put a bunch of junk on the desktop with notes and out comes a full track in the end LOL

Anylitical types are amazing to me . the benifits of being able to patiently learn how things work to its core has soo many benifits its unreal .. I wish i could be a little more analitical.. all i really see is the big picture and i only learn what i need to know to do what i want to do and nothing more .. I tend to really get the big picture but i dont have a bank of music theory that i use.. I have to spend a LOT of time researching different Things just so i can attempt
In fact, sometimes I'm completely blind - no theory, but just making stuff and then working my way out of the mess to get it to sound good. It's hard to describe how I do things because it can be different each time. Theory is just theory. It doesn't do much good in the real world of music except it does give you some new ideas here and there.
I can't seem to get to sleep...Anyway, I can't work with premade stuff. I have to have the flow and creativity go all at once. My mind can't sequence any of it and think about what I have available to me. I have to work in a kind of mess in my head by creating things in the moment and constantly adjusting in the moment. That's why my tracks get so big device wise

Theory just gives you some new framework to try. It is no good if you do not have an ear for music to begin with
