When I started working on this, I barely knew what a synth was. The basis for the entire track came out of four notes I punched in randomly so that I could experiment with the pulverisateur...

The amount of things I have learned in the past week is mindboggling to me, and it has been so much fun.

I am really excited to start being a part of the AT community!

Hope you guys enjoy! :)

  • Impressive first track! very nice tension and release.

  • love the freeness of the sound and music , great job

  • This is your first track? Blew me out of the water. Can't wait to hear more from you!

  • Really good for aa first song! :0

  • Hey kaneläpplen, great first track! I really like the mood of this, and enjoyed your experimentation with scales. I'm also an admirer of Frigolito's work. I look forward to hear more music from you!

  • Listening again, I'd also suggest to highpass the pad, because even though I know nothing about eqing, it sounds like it's clashing with the bass. Bass and pad should be seperated.

  • @Noir I think it's the delay on it... at least it sounds like delay.

  • @Noir I completely agree. The mixing was such a pain! That's where my inexperience really showed. You should have heard it before though, basically unlistneable... I want a lot of reverb, but I need to learn how to compensate using the overtones of the waveform and filtering out unnecessary frequencies, the sounds are quite unclear for that reason too! Even without reverb it was really difficult to hear at first. I'll get there some day, I hope...

  • @inavon Ah, you are too good to need to be jealous;) If that's what you want, I'm sure you'll be able too. I was actually really annoyed over the fact that I couldn't get into a different way of thinking. I wanted to do something simple harmonically and melodically and it turned out hella' complicated lolXD

  • One thing I noticed after listening to this again is that there's probably too much release/reverb on some of your bass synths. They're bleeding all over each other and making the piece really hard to hear because of the weird resonances they're causing. The flanging/phasing might be adding to the muddiness XD

  • :)

  • You music majors make me jealous :P Music theory is fun to learn, but being able to "apply" it in ways like you and Frigolito do is the leap that I want to make...

    Great track!

  • But I shall not doubt you because I make music just using my ears and no math. HAIL TO KANELAPPLEN-SAMA

  • I get it, its legit but my ears just tell me it's not :) But I havent studied music, nor do i have any understanding of scales and such... well i understand how to make a major and minor scale, but thats it basically. I guess I'm expecting very cool, haywyre-ish chord progressions!!!

  • @Todd Haha, nice one, intended or not. ;) Actually really made me laugh out loudXD

    Thank you so much!
