FIXED IT. YES. OK. EPIC.
i have become the very thing i have sworn to destroy.
days have past since i made the 2 stage amp experiment and i really wanted to make a better cabinet sim that didn't suck ass and didn't sound like filtering that a fucking infant could do.
i threw in the towel and decided to go all in, and ended up with the monstrosity that you can see on your screens now.
god is dead, and I have killed him.
i tried a lot of things, and eventually settled on a specific IR i got somewhere on the internet. i loaded up cabinetron on plugin doctor and pretty much copied the frequency response of the IR, but it still didn't sound right. there's a lot of math and stuff that i do not understand involved in doing that, so i eventually settled on trying to replicate it by ear.
this was a big mistake.
i've ended up putting literal hours of my life into doing this. i used a saw wave at c3 (instead of a sine wave, because aliasing on audiotool sucks (it's a browser daw, dumbass. what did you expect lmao)) to shape it how i wanted and then applied it to the guitar.
the most important part of the entire thing was definitely the notch at 6khz which proved to be essential to the creation of the tone. with my favorite cabinets it always has a notch around there, and i tried replicating it. this "worked", but it also made the high end absolutely fucking impossible to control. i had to pretty much hard cut the tone with the multibands.
