The extreme boredom from the assumption of knowing everything left the Celestials in a constant loop of increasing interpersonal violence and increasing defense against such violence. Discrimination practices combined with ethically poor religions and their violence led to their decline until they were only less than a hundred in numbers. In a project involving a land known as Yaril with human inhabitants, three Celestials aimed to gather materials for machines able to process deuterium to reignite their numbers, as deuterium is vital for the creation of new souls. Unfortunately, due to serious complications, one Celestial was corrupted, another died, and another fled. With numbers less than half a hundred now, they're threatened by extinction, and a couple of centuries after the Yaril incident, humanity became too advanced to be simply manipulated for the search of deuterium on Earth. For many reasons, Celestials avoided burying their dead on or near planets and moons expected to be accessed by humanity too soon.
