I wondered if I could reproduce the sounds in "Animals" by Martin Garrix, minus the intro, outro, some oneshots, and the "We're the fucking Garrimals" vocal. After getting the saw synth in the break to a satisfactory closeness to that of the original, I decided to reproduce many of the little details such as the sparse reversed reverb tails and the clock ticking. Of course, I remade the signature pluck of the drop and messed with it at the end. This was a good sound design exercise. I hope I'm not busted for copying.
