Ik the sample is very soulful, colourful energetic but I've done that as stylistic choice as it contrasts with the dark gritty themes of many New York Boom Bap lyrics and I've also added a subtle yet effective bassline that gives it a more darker sinister tone as well as that I sampled snippets of A Martin Scorsese Movie Taxi Driver and the vibe, mood, tone of the story, and the themes and social message all just gives the same vibe as the same so I added it in and the sample reminds me of Mos Def's flow who's a big name in New York underground hip-hop.
