The kick has an abundance of low midrange that is dominant and overwhelming the lower bass frequencies. Doing a low-end cut with your equalizer should help your drums have more clarity.
This one was really fun to make. Crit is welcome, subject to minor edits but it's mostly done

Thank you for the advice, I'm probably not going to make changes to this track just because I have newer drafts and stuff that I'm working on. But I'll try to use these mixing principles in my upcoming music :)

For example, a lower threshold, adjustment in ratio until it hits 5dB, and use a fast attack below 2ms and makeup gain. These balance the sounds. The release actually controls the rhythm and timing of the effects.

Cut the low end and add more to the kick to help it cut through and leave room for the bass. The EQ will improve the balance between the kick and the bass, but if the kick is hidden, then that's where you add compression to the bassline, and sidechain it to the kick.

The mid-lows section, the high-mids are more for your synthesizers. So I would take out the unwanted frequencies, so u can hear them a lil better @Ty Freestyle
