To control volume, lower your faders. You can use a compressor on individual instruments if you absolutely have to, but the compressor in AT isn't good for controlling volume/maximizing loudness. To do that, you need a compressor that can look ahead and be more intelligent. I'm not as knowledgeable about the side chain techniques because I go by ear on those and AT compressor can do those well enough.

..yea. i find moderating compression hard on songs like these. mainly, the compression gets the volume under control so the excess release doesn't sound annoying, but then it goes ahead and kind of attacks the song too... a recurring problem man ;\

that was beautiful man like it.... im not really one to judge this so dont take me wrong.... and really think everyone has a different opinion on this but it sounds like there a tid bit to much compression..... i really think its the prefference of the artist though i was just told this the other day about my new tracks and really it did help bring out the sound more and still have that fade in sound however you want to describe it lol.... again wonderful remix man!!!

^_^ thanks kepz. i find remixing the greatest challenge of all, since i usually have to just rape everything in the app or else i just get REALLY confused. Eventually, i come to the point where i just say F this and just publish xD

hm i like the bass melody, its really weird, but grows on you, especially after 4.30 . Some bits might be too loud compared to the rest, but yeah getting volumes right is always annoying :)
