Hello, so I and my friend Francesca have been planning forever to do this and I wanna know what genre you'd like to see this track be made in. We were thinking lo-fi maybe but don't really know.
also, since the song is already written, there's not a whole lot of thinking that needs to go into the actual structure of the song, so you can focus on spending more time on the quality and EQ and atmosphere and etc etc, which could be a learning experience as well.

Tbh I'm listening to the song now, and I think you should do a straight up musical cover like I did with 'I miss you' by Blink 182. Copy the chord structure, change the sounds, and either get someone to sing it (don't import actual vocals idt AT would approve) or get a really cool lead synth and write the vocals out note by note. lots of places to do cool vibey atmosphere stuff in that song, which would be a learning opportunity...
