Theory is right. Things aren't that bad here. I've been involved with LiNK, and the work they do, it's pretty rough. You should read a book called Escape From Camp 14, it puts things in perspective.
I was also in the room brainstorming with the founder of Hardwired(I was helping with ideas and logos at the time), and she's seen some things in her travels. Try living in Sudan, again, not easy.
