One day, I realized things were different. Not the same as they usually were. The cars all made the same sound. The birds and the people, they just didn't care like before. All the things that used to be colorful were faded and desaturated. It was like the whole world had been drained of vibration, like something was missing. Then I realized, it was because I didn't have a song stuck in my head. ----- I am a researcher, a fan, a lover, a designer and builder, of music. I am inspired and influenced by Nujabes, Damu The Fudgemunk, Klaus Layer, J Dilla (rest in peace, man) Oddisee, MF Doom, Funky DL, Gramatik, Mord Fustang, PrototypeRaptor, KMD, A Tribe Called Quest, and many others. For the past year or so, I've been hitting the local Hip Hop scene with some friends, the real stuff -- weekly bboy cyphers, spun live and direct, local shows by emcees, graff artists, even open events in the heart of the community devoted to teaching the history of the art. It's been amazing to immerse myself in the culture and the feeling that Hip Hop comprises, and that's the way you really discover what it is, what is has been, and what it can be.
