I wasn't devaluing where I'm headed. All of the things I learnt have been very useful.
But you can get there as self-taught too. I think I have a little of an upper hand in music history, nomenclature and journalistic aspects of music, because I have to analyse music, read about it and communicate it a lot in school. But even then, those are skills you can learn and need to develop yourself out of your own interest if you want them to stick.

that doesn't devalue your own path brother... believe me i might have benefited more by taking up lessons (still can) which could either further my knowledge or worsen my creative outlet.
It really is a weird one but at least you did something with that prior knowledge.
Some get qualifications and end up not even using them so take each step as growth, you've done what you can :)
The final day of 2025 I usually do a summary but this year is a little different.
I took a step away from audiotool & music creation, something which i have almost never done for i mainly took monthly breaks.
However having to prioritise other aspects of my life has been tougher than i thought.
Not everything is doom and gloom though, i went abroad, started dabbling in freelance graphic design, spent more time with family & most importantly; i learnt to take each day as it comes.
Bro. Get your music in a movie, video game or make a music video or something. Spam pandemic to every director you can. Every game studio you know. Trust bro
I love the appreciation man but genuinely the "mainstream avenue" is wasted for someone like myself, once upon a time the glitz and glam was enticing but now i can't say it has the same effect.
My main issue is like most, i grew wise way past my years however wisdom without motion is just death.
Community at the forefront of everything matters the most and always will; it's why i said i was so lucky even on here... i got in, made a few great tracks, built connections and still check in.
Artistry is truly dead; i have held my tongue for a long time but this is a clear message to any creatives on audiotool. It was already bad enough people posting fully ripped fruity loop/ ableton tracks on here just to get validation and a place in the charts. Now having AI integrated into audiotools system is purely moronic, the use of copyrighted content is unethical for terms and conditions as is but we give a pass to generated songs which btw have copyrighted material in themselves?
