I now finally feel my age, not only have i seen the sample apocolypse; dating walls which are mainly kids (still wanna throw up over that) & childish drama about who has more clout or know music theory better. We now wave goodbye as Legacy audiotool is gone!
I feel you, I've been on audiotool for 7 years and I can definitely feel it - but it's a part of growing up. Not only you change, but the world around you as well. And audiotool is no exception. I believe people reacted the same when audiotool next came up, but everyone got used to it. I believe it's going to be the same thing with this new AT.
They did say that they are going to improve this as the days go by (definitely not a sign this was rushed, lol). But UI inside of the studio is going to be the same as now. Corporation decisions for ya.
But i doubt i'm truly gonna like this new studio that much, with all due respect it seems like it leans more into how FL & Ableton structure their DAW. Again nothing is wrong with looking different but choosing that change i feel isn't needed; Adding additional tags & better use of updating posted tracks is a postive highlight however so good work on that.
Although i can say the complete overhaul of the "studio" is not my cup of tea, pardon the pun. I still at the moment loved the simplistic style of the base app - then again i understand this update will have teething issues for many like me.
I do ofc have my own feelings and choice words on this pivot for a new direction with the site, UI is awkward right now... not sure if i love the professional standard or if i want to cry in a dark room and become mortified (it's like being in a relationship for 12 years; then your partner just gets a new body)
I love colaborating with you, these tracks with multiple produceren are fun to be part of and they are realy dynamic. Hope we can do this again sometime then we are used to the new studio! For now the new site is a lot of exploration for me. Your new music btw is cool, love the guitar! :~)
Absolutely agree. The charts will only ever show what's popular and not necessarily what is good or interesting. They don't matter much, although they will give you a decent fanbase. It's kind of funny that I'm considered an "og" artist here, but I've never once had a singles chart. Kinda want one just to having had one.
Having genuine people who check up on you & still vibe with what you've created is so much better i still look sometimes at the messages people sent me and have like a dissociation episode like wtf i actually did this stuff lol
I can only speak from my point of view when it comes to single charts & the pros and cons that come with it.
It does feel weird that the top 10 isn't consistently between the ranges of 150 - 100 likes (however the active users + OG's were moving different in that time) now i tend to not even know what's going on lol
Singles really just promote inflated egos tbh which ofc i'm also including myself in said bracket especially when you first taste it but that isn't tangible growth.
i remember back then when the singles would have like, 10th be at like 50+ favs and stuff, like... getting to the single really felt like a huge deal to accomplish
but now its pretty... much an easy entry nowadays
of course who cares about singles but still ngjnht
most of singles is just trap and not really anything that has big wowed me most of the time (personal preference tho)
its feeling a lot emptier than how it was when i first got here back in late 2019 snfifles
i dont really know, i feel like a stranger in something i've been in for over half a decade now
dont really know what to do around here much aside from maintaining my 1000th track goal before the beta release and making tribute tracks to artists (who inspired me) who deleted their accounts
but other than that well... the site's still kicking at least? but i cant remember the last time i really saw a... packed singles chart, if that makes sense?
btw if you ever feel behind, nobody in the history of the world ever knew wtf they were doing :)

Loved being on the track man! Glad it's on YouTube
No matter how much you do in life it'll always feel like you've never done enough
"True Factz."
So how has the site been in recent times?
Well now it's doesn't matter since charts are deeply buried in this new website layout lol

Oh i get that bud, trust me; even after a decade myself that weird feeling of not "fitting" in never disappears

Still though, not all is bad i've seen like a few glimmers of hope from creators like you & others holding it down!
