Is there a solution to this? People don't think it's important to use it correctly but it's not easy to find let's say HARDCORE track charting that are actually HARDCORE bc its filled with trap beats!!!!

  • Let reputable users suggest genres as you had before. If you get re-categorized 3 times in a row, your genre selection tab gets disabled and all your stuff goes to a newbie genre. If you make genre suggestion available for everyone, again trolls like below ( downvoted comment ) will abuse it.

    • Sorry about my comment I wasn't trying to offend anyone I was just giving my own opinion and I am not a troll

  • I got a solution that will help solve the issue of the genres. Create a new genre call "HARD TRAP". Hopefully, this will be the answer.

    • Thanks for your reply. I understand that unfortunately some people can be inconsiderate and don't care. We can only try our best and hope people will be honest which genres they place their tracks in.

    • In theory you're right and adding that genre might be part of a solution. But we have lots of users that simply don't care or even want to abuse the fact that you can chart in low-frequented genres pretty easy.

  • I will look forward when the tracks are in the right categories. I get annoyed myself when I want to listen to the top ten hardcore tracks of the week, that there may be only 1, 2 or if I am lucky 3 tracks that I feel are hardcore tracks. I do not diss the work the artists put into the tracks, as the songs are good, but just not in the right place. What I call hardcore is #yurenko #666noisemaker etc. That what I want to see in the hardcore charts. Thanks for your support for addressing this issue.

  • There is no report button other than sexual abuse and copyright infringment. There should be a way - like a button - for at least reporting the misuse of the tag. ( I know u guys think that the button could be abused, for this reason i think there should be someone that could determine if that track is in the right or in the wrong category.

    • maybe every +50 followers equals +5 higher threshold? or something along those lines

    • We should have bigger thresholds based on account popularity

    • That's why I think it should be monitored by a real person, or more then one. I mean when - following the exampe of aeotius - the treshold is reached, it means there is an urge to change the track's category. So someone should listen and correct the genre tag of that track. I don't know if it's a thing that could be done or not. But surely one of the best solution, if it's a viable way for you guys.

  • Sorry for making lot of post. Didn't mean to be rude. But I made this post 6 months ago and nothing has changed and i'm getting a little mad about this thing. I know u guys work hard, its just that this category thing is drivin me mad.

    • I can only thank you and hope that the problem will be solved !

    • You can be sure that I have a personal interest in getting this mitigated. We simply didn't find the time to implement a solution, yet.

    • I know that the devs are actively discussing this now and that there are several strategies being proposed. Unfortunately it's not easy to come up with a perfect solution. Maybe @Known As I can elaborate more than me about what's the current status of this.

  • We're discussing this (again) and I'm trying to bump the priority. No promises, though.
