if the bass is a pure sine wave or something very close to that it's like putting all ur eggs into one frequency basket; if the speaker can't play that freq, it just won't show up
using a waveshaper or sm sort of distortion to add harmonics to the 808 is rly helpful for this too. on small speakers ur brain hears the harmonics and fills in the bass note without it actually needing to be there. also tends to fill out the midrange a little
I usually do something like that I'll occasionally test on earphones and then a small boombox thing which they both come through but I guess it's probably because my phone's speakers aren't that great at picking up those low freq
different earphones and headphones have different freq responses on the speakers. They can only reproduce certain frequencies. Normally the smaller, the less low end.
You could always get some cheap refurbished HD650's or something like that for cheap on amazon.
also, each manufacturer will show super zoomed out response charts to make it look like their products have the flattest response when they don't.
I think it could be the beginning of something good, it sounds nice so far but I feel there is a missing element. And there is a tick on the end. Keep up the good the work :)
lolloollol

you're best best is to get your largest speakers and use them as your mix reference.
