Compiling

The computer only understands a series of ons and offs flowing through its transistors, so how does your code translate into a program? For High Level Programming Languages, that is a compiler. The compiler takes your code and turns it into something that your computer's bootstrapper can then translate into the ons and offs your processor understands. Let's just hope nothing is lost in translation! This is, in my opinion, my best sound production so far. I'm a little sketchy on the synth about 60% of the way through, but I'll probably tinker around with it to make it flow a little better. Hope you enjoy! Compiling is my worst enemy.

Nice stuff! The title is very fitting in my opinion. :)

Hmm... When I was editing the levels, I didn't have any speakers that could output much sub bass. Turns out it's a little wonky. Especially with that bubbly bass I add near the end.

So I went back in and messed with some of the levels. It's sounding a little better now.

I went in and fixed the levels on this... Then realized I had hit remix instead of open -.-

Gosh, so I did a little research, and I found out that my laptop had been, without my knowing, using some sort of compressor/ exciter/ equalizer that was messing with my levels. The eq is all wrong on this XD

yo this is nice.

And now, Kepz, I see why you think the percussion is too loud. And I see why you think the stuff is too repetitive, opaqity ... Not sure if there's a way around this other than to say (Listen in surround sound) XD

Oh, wow. Okay then. I think I see what you guys mean now. I just found out the other day my laptop has this really snazzy surround sound mode, and this sounds really good on that, but in stereo, it has a lot of stuff competing for the same soundspace.

And, in reply to what you said on my wall, this makes a great background track. It just needs a little variation when you're listening to the whole thing (which most people don't on this website) to keep it fresh, that's all. It's not necessarily a BAD thing, I guess :P

Yeah, that snare. I'm not 100% sure why it seems like that, maybe it's just too loud, maybe needs some more lows, or maybe you should just pick another sound.

I may actually want to do something with the background synth, now that I listen to it again... I'll see how it sounds with a little something different.

Kepz Is it that the drums are overpowering the background synth? I'm probably going to mess around with the eq on the reverb clave, is there anything else that you feel is too loud?

opaqity By the snare, do you mean the sound that is introduced at ? I may have to have a listen on some higher range headphones or something; there might be a weird thing going on with the frequencies that I can't hear.

Wow, that's the most actual critique I've ever got on a track. Thanks, guys! I'll see what I can do about the percussion. As for the repetetive pulv, that's actually intentional. Waiting for the computer to compile can get a bit monotonous.

i think the drums are way too loud

The main pulv does get really repetitive though. Overall, though, this is a really great track, very very cool indeed ;)

The percussion seems a bit dry though. I understand you're probably going for a more minimal sound, but a little more progression towards the end would keep it a lot more interesting as it's over 6 minutes long. The snare also seems a little too harsh.

Yeah, this is really cool. Some fantastic synths on display here.
