    I think what's most needed is composition.

    The intro feels disconnected and the song might be better served by starting with the main melody at 0:13 without the bass (maybe slowly open up a high pass filter and bring the bass in when the filter is gone)

    I'd also consider some more rhythm in the bass and hats on the drums to give it more energy and development. see how this example starts off very simple and adds something every 4 bars.
