also YESSSS thank you i love snail's house and moe shop

i think what i do is start with a melody and think about where i want consonants to be and which vowel to do as im making the melody, then i execute it and change it if it sounds weird or if it could be better. one thing i do is try to say it out loud and see it it's difficult to say, and if it is, then speak out how i want it sound, break it apart and recreate it (also when doing this a lot i learned a lot of like the speaking syntax if that makes sense)

Sounds so pro, reminds me of moeshop or snail house. How do you decide/plans what sounds? Or is it closer to random vowels/consonants?

Jan 20

bitcrusher to make it sound more crisp for the consonants, i take a heisenberg synthesizing white noise no attack no release 100% sustain and automate the cutoff to get different sounds of consonants to tell the difference between (f, h, sh, and s) or (k, ch, and t). then i plug this into a bitcrusher to make it fit in with the vowels and also to make it sound less like just white noise. i then have it play C all the time and i plug this into a tinygain and automate it to form the consonants

you can remix it to see!! i think the timeline is pretty straightforward for the vowels, i take a heisenberg on legato with no attack or release 100% sustain and feed that into a slope set to the 4th mode (the one that looks like __/\__ ) with the resonance turned up (somewhere between 30% to 70%). then i automate the frequency. theres definitely a better way to do this to get other vowels like r but this works for me because i don't make actual lyrics. then i plug this into a (continued)

If you ever have the chance! A lot of my "8-bit" work is heavily inspires by Snails house. Is not fully 8-bit but the melodies are incredibly similar, check him out to see it !

Jan 10

i am already very inspired by snail's house lol
