Christian Chrom x low ego - 2018

ego -> Collaborating with Chrom has been a great experience. I think our syles fit pretty well together. I love how this track ended up and I hope to collab with him again in the future! Expect more acid coming from us ;)

chrom --> ego joined and suddenly those congas where added while i was working in the draft and the flow was there :) our styles blend well together from the start and it was a great expirience how fast and fluid the track was done. looking forward for more of us ;)

for the staff: thx for making live collab possible!

it's like working in the same room with hardware but without carring all the synths around :)

it 's by far the biggest improvement for a DAW i can imagine!

i am planing to do AT beginner and synthdrum workshops in the future for people who are interested in.

i will post infos about it on the board as soon as i have all set up.

  • this is fire

    • maybe we should try a chrom - pe - ego collab one day ;)

  • hmu with a track like this, it's so deep

  • i like the percussion :o

  • The thing about an old-school track is if its to shine through today's heavy mixing and massive after effects, it needs to be bright and sharp. The acidity from this track gets a bit watered down by the metallic reverb. One thing that i think could help fix this is to have the room effect you've got here and move it to the sides of the main track. The Stereo Enhancer is a great tool for moving things around a soundscape. I would split the channel and try to find a way to push that reverb back.

    • recreating the backbone of EDM? :D thought it's a boneles thing .

you are right that there are a lot of points to make it sound better brighter and more conform to what you and many others are think that a track should sound like. all those "rules" kill my inspiration in creating sounds and tracks and if all just use known ways we are damed to have EDM ;) thanks man we are allready sitting in an new draft because it makes so much fun to play with dirty sounds

    • Pushing the room noise back from the main track would create this warmer, but more sharp sound that acid/rave has. Overall, i think you guys did an amazing job recreating the backbone of EDM music. <3 Keep up the great work and I hope you make more like this. <3

  • damn this sounds good

    • thanks man, I will definetly keep doing techno, having so much fun with it!

    • and also good job christian-chrom of course :)

    • i hope you keep trying techno, low ego (your decision of course but i have to say i like it)

  • nice, im jammin to this like weirdo

  • great guys, love it! The second half feels a bit underproduced in contrast to the first half but thats about it, would love to hear this through a club system

    • Ig we tried to make a cooler drop, but It does feel a little weird. Thanks for the feedback man!

    • thx for your feedback ollie :) thats something to work with i appreaciat!

i listened on an other sound system too and felt a bit wired at that part

    • like at 2:31 a new bass gets introduced for 2 bars then just goes away again, and an open hihat comes in its place, doesnt feel as cohesive and in terms of raving that section would confuse a crowd, thats all, it eventually sorts itself out in the end though :)

  • Brilliant colab and track guys, love it ;) reminds me of my first ever AT track ever morning star 3.0 ha

  • Not much crit for me to give, its good

Imo, you should give the bassline more variations in the patterns as the track goes on, but yeah this is cool

    • Thanks for the feedback man!
