  i think cutting the mids from the Kicks and snares are a mistake :)

  To On the Snare Try adding a white noise hit with a woody snap snare with a dampened reverb .. with the kick i would layer two kicks one with a nice Dance style Bump to it and The other with Not so bassy a good Mid range click to the hit :) hope that helps
