Track 7
The Neon Age was initially meant to be my 5th album. It was meant to expand on [i], offering much more cohesive songwriting, better sound design, and a heavier emphasis on electronic elements and interesting riffs. Over time, the album became a rough concept album, outlining a pretty generic dystopian future with an AI overlord and zombies and stuff like that. The album was scrapped when I realized that I had essentially made a bunch of boring songs with a loose generic concept that has been done a million times before.
So, this song actually has a little backstory. A youtuber I knew was online friends with a girl who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness. The girl's health seemed to be improving slightly, and they were making plans to meet IRL, but before those plans could be realized, she unfortunately passed away. This song was inspired by that situation, and about losing someone unexpectedly.
...before I fucking ruined it all by forcing the song into the album's concept and making it be about a robot who falls in love with a human coping with the human's death
This song was originally going to feature anodyne on vocals
This one is a bit more experimental, good job:~)
