I like this chord progression, I think it would sound even nicer with a more interesting groove and a rhodes like sound to it :)

It functions very similarly to the flanger pedal.

Probably the chorus pedal because it adds complexities and movement and widens your stereo imagery. I like using it because of the authentic 80's sound, the tone is dreamy and thickens the bass guitar sound (Rhodes piano.)

@adrian Check your amplifier or speakers, or maybe your sound driver in your computer is old. As for gain, this refers to the strength of a signal coming through the device while the volume is the strength of the output leaving that device.
