No not for a higher base frequency. Just to make it interesting, and give the pure kick a contrast. A very short subtle high frequency square or something.

Also, have you tried adding a very short high frequency click on your bassdrums? Works wonders sometimes, otherwise some kicks appear to be too filtered.

Man, you got crazy with your PM stuff. Cool distorted bass. Also I really like the hihats. They sound better than the most samples in the browser.
