Other Dark Evil Techno Jambam

Finished off one of the many drafts I came up with during the Olympics. Hope you like it and let me know what you think, I haven't really done any tweaking yet. :)

Yeah that's right, apart from clipping too many things fighting for the same frequencies courses a lot of distortion. Me I just cheat and try to blend them all together.

like when your working on a track and sometimes when you bend the FQ and you have your speakers loud it makes some distorted sound.... that is your FQs crossing or coming close.... and if im wrong please correct me but i just got a little tutorial from tyburn yesterday and im pretty sure thats right

in my latest track i put a graph eq on each of my synths and it really helps keep the synths FQ from crossing.... its ur FQ you need to worry about if you keep them from coming close or crossing it will make ur track sound alot more clean and you can crank the speakers up and you wont get that muffed sound when you bend ur FQ. and res on the synths im sure you know what i mean

That's the beauty of the graph. eq - it's a slope, tubed and a peq all in one!

thats a good tip and yeah when i started using slopes it made getting good sounds a lot easier

A good easy way that Infy and DJ Fred told me is turn off the limiter, turn the main volume on the centroid down till there's no clipping then turn master volume up. Plus learn the compressors - I'm still figuring them out - they really help.

that makes sense, i have no idea what im talking about still figuring out how to make my tracks clearer and crisper

Not really cos the only frequencies there are coming from what you've already produced, run a quick band pass through them and then snap it back to the highest or use a splitter and blend and split.

yeah i hear a lot of that bandpass trick in here, it makes a nice ambience It must be tough to make sure the frequencies don't get muddled though

Cheers Terres yeah it's a nifty trick using a band pass with the graphic eq. Really handy, you can whack it on almost anything! The kick is a 909 with attack way down and a bit of drive. :)

what a dark, massive droney track that kick is huge, i might have to open it up and take a look :) also i hear the same type of sound effects that were in ur alien party song, they sound god scaled back a bit
