i have to confess i'm not to keen on judging or naming genres in general, but i think a lot of europeans connect the edm-term to music like guetta, garrix etc. sure, it abbreviates to 'electronic dance music' but somehow the abbrevation has its plastic and over-the-top past :)
what about dance music producer? no limits if you go unplugged someday (like these guys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gR8KGam3m9Q) :)

@rnzr - I am interested in how Europeans interpret "EDM". My depth of understanding of the term is about as deep as its definition "Electronic Dance Music" but if what you heard in my style is something other than what you would expect from EDM I would love to hear a better term for describing myself and my style. House producer? Deep house producer? Supersmooth deep house producer? Lol. :)
