You're doing the common beginner thing of underestimating what all goes on under the hood. You should definitely check out some riddim songs and pay attention to the foundation of those tracks. Use a track you like for reference and compare them back to back. I know it'll hurt to do that but it will help you I guarantee it.
Yeee it helps big time. I remember when the big AT guys kept talking shit about riddim but couldn't make it to save their fucking lives. It would be so jarring to hear people who sounded damn near professional at whatever they did suddenly sound like they found the app last night. Why was this? Because they didn't understand it. They probably heard, let's say Yasuo probably at that time, like twice and thought they could legit make something good. It simply doesn't work that way.
Add a reversed snare as a break to when the original snare hits. Some transitions would be nice, like maybe a window shatter sound or something like that. The crash cymbal in the beginning is very low volume, so I would increase the knob a tad bit more. In the mixer, place a EQ on top of the distorted instruments. Then place some more eq, compression, a little bit of reverb and then another eq to squeeze it back together which helps shape the sound.
