Would love to hear more blending work on those vocals, but this is really neat and REALLY catchy, especially at !!

yeah sure!

no problem at all! I have some time, I'd rather show you than tell you! can you invite me to this track and I'll open it up and we can talk there?
Sep 18, 21
yes, and that information quite often ends up giving an edge to lots of tracks haha, can also ask what you mean by running them through a filter .... i feel useless pahaha

All information is important, you just have to get better at defining your searches! :) sometimes a broad amount of research is good cuz it teaches you things you didnt even know you needed to know! xD

in this case, in reference to your vocals, we'd wanna go with the second definition of blend. They stick out a bit too much and I can also hear that they are overpowering other sounds in the mix
try gain reduction, or perhaps slap a slope pedal or curve filter on those vocals!
assuming you have left and right channels set up, meaning you should clone your vocals and pan one to the left and one to the right then merge them and run em thru a filter.
Hope this helps!

yeahh i used to try to do more research lol, but i find i am absolutely useless at being able to find things on the internet, and always end up down some rabbit hole about information that i didnt need in the first place haha

no problem at all! glad I could help. Whenever you are unsure as to the definition of a particular thing, I personally just type 'define (insert term)' into google, which, if it isn't an oxford definition, it's at least pretty accurate
Just keep up the good work!! Don't be afraid to spend time doing research!

I am very clueless at most things when it comes to producing so stuff like this really helps lol

so basically mixing happens at the end, where blending happens in the middle or late beginning. mixing can also sometimes mean (in slang) the process of literally mixing up your song in such a way that it adheres to conventional song structure or simply just "adding variety" i.e. mixing things up
Sep 18, 21
Ohh i see what you mean, than you !!
Sep 18, 21
Nope.
audio mixing is the process of optimizing and combining multitrack recordings into a final mono, stereo or surround sound product.
“Blend” has two meanings: (1) merging the sounds of two different instruments (like oboe and
clarinet) in such a way that they produce a sound more interesting than the sum of their parts, and
(2) the combination of sounds from many instruments into a single, homogenous sound so that no
one player or section dominates.
