What are you referring to when you say timing? If you mean BPM (Beats Per Minute) then that is what it is. The BPM determines how fast a track goes. I you put a kick on beats 1, 2, 3, and 4, then the speed at which they go by is the BPM. A 4/4 time is 4 beats and 4 quarter notes per measure. The measures in AT are marked by a 1, 2, 3, etc.
