some of my songs do that like one called Currence this one is like the best example, its small enough that you should be able to open it up and play it (this was like the four song I ever made on here so check it out and get some Ideas from that.
With loops if you have one with a simple melody make a second space and copy it down on the time line, take the loop on the bottom and push it forward 2,1, 1/2 or even 1/4 of a second forward... depending on the song
