I am a newbie to making music in this sort of fashion. I have been a classically trained bassist for the past 9 years. I play the electric bass, and now I'm getting into the whole house music, dance music sort of thing. I am new, so if you listen to my tracks, give some feed back so that I know what to improve on. I know what they are basically supposed to sound like and all that, but the intricacies are lost on me. Ceol ann i gach rud! Know é, agus é a ghrá! To answer your Question.(s) i make most of my stuff using audio tool synthase when starting with audio tool synthase you get a raw sine wave that must be shaped and manipulated. you do not have to go outside of Audio tool to make midi tracks:) i would check out Infyuthsion's You Tube page for the Tutorials or The tutorials on all the synths
i think there's a bug on audiotool giving things false plays. also, more work doesn't always make a track better, people have preferences, and not everyone will listen to all your music
Thanks a lot! I like house music, but I can't figure out how to make the leads for the life of me. I think I've got trance sorta figured out :) .... synth wise at least.

you could look up some audiotool tutorials on youtube if you want, its really usefull
