For many of us, this transition is more than just an update. Even for some members of the team, NEXT has been the version of Audiotool that stayed with them the longest, and we don’t want to let this moment pass without capturing it somehow. Let’s collect some of those thoughts and memories in musical form: instrumental, experimental, emotional, with or without lyrics. Whatever NEXT means to you. Please post your tracks to the @a-records wall or under the latest board post about the project, but not here in this thread. Maybe we can instead use this space to share a few anecdotes, memories, or talk about the tracks that become part of this farewell album. GOODBYE NEXT → HELLO NEW

RIP Legacy, you will be missed dearly

Micronova {OFFLINE}

Goodbye Legacy, You will be missed. I started making stuff on Audiotool at a convenient point, i was able to learn the ropes in Legacy, and I'm now able to experience the new Audiotool. Who knows, maybe the whole site will get a new coat of paint to match the new studio. But i hope we can still talk about stuff on Audiotool, chat with like-minded people across the internet about music and other stuff. But for now... Cheers. To a new era of Audiotool.

Crazy to think I've been on here for almost 10 years. Whatever was going on in my life, audiotool NEXT and music making was literally the only thing I ever truly thought about. I grew up here. AT NEXT has been part of my life more than much of anything else, in all honesty. I started off in Uni easier because of audiotool. Next was fairly fresh when I started. I only really caught some glimpses of what AT was previously. Next's been a huge chunk of my world. I will miss it, but I'm excited too.

I made this account in October 2019 as an 8th grader to listen to some music online. I started experimenting in the studio on a school Chromebook around Fall 2020 (had nothing better to do since COVID hit) and finally published my first track in January 2021 under the alias "D30N". I've been producing many genres in NEXT for about 5 years now and have been through like 5 aliases in that time lol. I'll be looking forward to fully using the new studio, but I'll miss NEXT. o7

I think I've spent thousands of hours in NEXT - hard to think about my teen years without all the time in audiotool

Mr. Greenshard

I'm not even an OG, I started using audiotool in december of 2020. Even so, I've learned so much since I've started and I'm both excited and scared for the new studio to come. I know I'm basically a hermit, but I see the things that go on here and I really love this community and the absolute bangers people have made with this site. Farewell old studio, we'll miss ya.

When I was in my Junior year of high school, I had a heavily underfunded computer science class that I was in and the teacher ran out of stuff to teach because we only had this tiny outdated computer lab with no software on the PCs. So she saw that I was spending all of my time making music on audiotool and asked if I could make a lesson on it for the class. Granted, I was making trash at the time and had no idea what a phaser actually did... But I agreed. That was still the flash version :)
