XXX - RPM LIMITER

Manual sound design. No presets. Pushing the Heisenberg synths to the breaking point. This track is built on heavy 808 distortion, Memphis underground chops, and high-velocity energy. Workflow: > * DAW: Audiotool Lead: Custom Heisenberg patches Percussion: Machiniste (Manual Sequencing) older remake of rpm limiter. spent a while going back through the mix and changing a lot of the stuff that was making it sound too clean and modern. reworked both cowbell melodies, toned down some of the harsher frequencies, adjusted the distortion, changed parts of the drum processing, and pushed the whole track more towards that dark memphis tape feel while still keeping the energy and aggression from the original version. kept the main cabin fever style cowbell as the focus, left the supporting melody underneath it to fill out the space, and used classic vocal cuts throughout the track including old dj paul and juicy j vocals. the ship ahoy sections were placed at bars 9, 33, and 57 to help separate parts of the arrangement and give the beat some memorable moments without overusing them. the goal wasn't to make a perfect recreation of a 90s tape, but more like taking inspiration from that era and mixing it with the heavier drums, louder bass, and darker atmosphere that modern phonk has. still dirty, still loud, still distorted, just with more attention put into the details and overall vibe this time around.
