Okay folks, instead of boring you with one of my oh so famous rants/monolouges that i put in most my songs, ill try to keep it brief...

I tried to opt for the Minimal Techno sort of deal (like with my last song) but i dont know if im either still in the Minimal part or i drifetd away from it...then again, i believe i found MY TRUTH to making a genre...

MY TRUTH IS....that there is no preset defintion for the genre you make...sure its obvious when we talk about Trance in difference with IDM...or how we know that progressive is characterized by long, repetitive phrases and many build-ups in the timeline, while we know for a FACT that House and Techno mostly follow a 4-on-the-floor kick pattern while Drum n' Bass has its own drum variations...

But, the point is, these definitions are a GENERAL GUIDELINE for us to work with...i know i shouldn't mention him here (i know ill be hated for it) but Skrillex was right about one things...he doesnt "make" dubstep, he only slightly follows the dubstep emplate to make his songs, which in turn brings in a new style and feel to his music instead.

All in all, i feel that genres are more like stepping stones and foudations upon which we work and create...submitting to making the same music as someone else "exactly as they make it" shrinks individuality and saps the difference from our character...

what a minute...DAMN IT!!! I DID THE LONG MONOLOUGE AGAIN...WHY!?

oh well, enjoy the track, any comment sor thoughts, leeave 'em below vvvvvv :3 :D :)

EDIT: fixed the volume in one of the elements, i felt it was being left unheard so i gave a little gain so it can be heard (but still not break through the mix) and added 5% more to its flanger speed, its sounds nicer that way >:3

  • Nice track man, still working at the pulv ill keep you posted.

  • thanks L&D, glad you like it :D

  • awesome m8...:3

  • i know what you mean, i must say im a believer in ying-yang, the balance of things, i like harsh, gritty techno styles (i.e. acid techno) but i also very much enjoy mellow, spacey and simplistic ambiance (i.e. drone) but i digress...everyone has their likes and dislikes and i support that :D

  • Yeah, breaking the mould is always good when it comes to genres :)

It's the long, progressive feel that I don't like when it comes to minimal, it always seems a little anti-climatic to me.

    But that's just me ;)

  • when i think about it, i dont think this track is minimal per se...as i described in the description here, i believe i based it on minimal but i know feel it also has elements of progressive (long, repetitive bars with layering over time).

also, i have no idea what my tabs are supposed to mean :\

  • Nice, quite dark. Minimal isn't usually my thing, but the sound design here is good :)

  • like this uncomplicated flow, its a headnut!

  • thank you cripta :D

  • nice one :)

  • @meduse Partie: it shouldn't...but i like it, i think im the only one in audiotool who does but im certain there is someone here who has been doing so for longer than me, although i sometimes try to go for a shorter approach, im come to enjoy writing these unnecessary"monologues".
