@stoneheart to further the convo about the charts, I've somehow jumped UP 5 spots....with no real change in faves or plays, and I am not sure but I don't even think my views have even jumped...I just don't understand it, is all...like if they're not based off plays or faves, what's the point? who's running these charts anyway?! XD I need more data

i think it's really sad that stuff like this is allowed to even be on the charts. Like, are you proud of this ten second clip? where's the rest of the song/project? It just doesn't seem fair to the people that put effort into full length projects...maybe I'm just a bitch.

Fair enough. I can agree with that

Just because a track is short, does not mean that an artist did not put a lot of effort into something. A large project is not necessarily better. Sometimes the charts are not as perfect as possible. However, Rai certainly entertains his audience and his work is chart worthy. Charting in that of itself should be less sought after than creating something you love.

I wonder how we could bring this "chart thing" up to the devs of audiotool? May be we an come up with a new concept for the website? :O :D

I like this debate that you started though, it's a really nice topic. I think just work on your tone when you comment on AT. At first you sounded a little bit of a hater, but then you calmed down and understood the situation. I think next time, when you give feedback, just try to tone it better. I don't hate you, and I don't think rai does too, but it's just that you sounded a little bit aggressive at first and that's why he replied in the way he did. Cheers mate <3

But in rai's case here, his tracks already have an agenda. An agenda accepted by many people: 10 seconds snippets for them to finish, or be inspired by. And we support that. So, it's fair for it to chart. Besides, he makes huge drafts in his *serious* works. so, just because he doesn't make this track 3 minutes doesn't mean he's a *no effort* man.
Jul 18, 20
I can see where you're coming from, and that's not wrong. Many people don't like people who say "simplicity is key" because they think that's just an excuse for them not to put in as much effort as they should. The thing is, there is no *minimum effort* in music. People like Lil Nas X can make Old Town Road with fewer than 6 instruments and still chart. Not because of the effort, but because of how well-produced the song is. Not saying you're wrong, because I agree to that to a certain extent.

so when someone who works that hard and puts a lot of personal effort into their own projects, sees a 10-second clip topping the charts, yeah it can be a little bit frustrating. I'm not trying to bring anyone down or get anyone to take any tracks off their charts I would never want that. I'm just stating the fact that all your tools charts are not balanced they don't seem fair at all. There should be a separate chart for clips or inspirational pieces or SOMETHING, I can't have all the answers
Jul 18, 20
I guess @stoneheart has a good point there, but I wish the two were separated. I mean imagine you're a professional artist and you're topping the charts and then someone comes out with a ten second clip and bumps you off the #1 spot? I know you see my point here, and I agree that most people make music for fun but some of us would like to develop a career in this type of field. but if audiotool has charts, those are for recognition, people want to build a fanbase and find out what they're goodat
Jul 18, 20
@dannyballiet4 you need to recognize that the primary reason people make music is because they like it. Not because other people like it, but they like it. Getting other people to like your music is only secondary. It's a sort of optional thing, whereby it's a bonus reward if you're music is good. Since rai has done both here, there's nothing wrong with it. His 10 second jams are made for inspiration, and in that context, it's fair for it to chart.
Jul 18, 20
@fonder be here preaching. Dude, charting takes skill. This just means rai has skill. People like his music, and they follow him. When he releases a track, they get notifs and they listen. If they like it they fav. If so many people like it so much that it charts, then it's fair. If people like what they hear, they fav it. Thus, they chart.
Jul 9, 20
I'll just give you a word of advice. You aren't going to gain respect or recognition by bringing people down, or self deprecating. You have to lift people up and be confident!
And if you were hoping I would take this down because it is charting then, sorry bud. I make the music I feel like making.
Jul 9, 20
No, its true. It's just 10 seconds so I get why people would be mad that it's on the charts. It's not like I asked the audiotool devs to chart. I think it is based on the plays or listens that the track gets within that week, so if you want to chart, by all means. Make a track that everyone likes!
