1:12 i feel there's some sidechain stuff happening here that feels too strong when listening to it, if there's anything happening to duck the volume there, i'd recommend pulling it back a little
Trying to stop using my guitar vst, What do y'all think?
I'm going for a Cyber, heavy, video game esc song. Inspired by Breaking Benjamin, Mick Gordon, Machine Head, etc, so Idk what that'll be but I'm having a ton of fun.
Also, does it sound cool?
(Also the picture is my actual guitar, it's a 8 string Jackson I got from Amazon lol)

I think you'd benefit from the same thing I'm having to re-learn for guitar tone, the least amount of gain you can get away with is the best for recording. I've got my 7string working again and I've forgotten how much that maintains clarity on multi-scale guitars

Oh theres no synths there, I did add some small amounts of chorus to one of the many guitar tracks, it makes it have a wide and interesting sound.
I basically recorded like 10-12 different guitar tracks all with different eqs, etc and just started riffing lol.
But I agree, 2:00 is just me messing around with riffs, I'm definitely going to change it up later on.
(Also I'mma do much more with the drums and structure)
Also I'm using Thall amp plugin for a lot of the sounds.

maybe it's the synth at 2:00 I was hearing, then. It's not bad, I love mixing synth with guitar. I think it might need some EQ to blend or a gritty bass guitar to balance it out some. If you come back to this one, let me know :)

Oh and most of it is my guitar, only the beginning part there are some synths that are mimicking the notes I'm playing, but the drop is all just my guitar (and a riser near the end of the drop)
2nd drop though is me noodling around I'll mix and work that eventually, might turn out completely different.

Added a drop, the 2nd buildup and drop are just me freestyling, I will change/ refine that later.

God I love this so much, I'mma be off of work for the next 3 days, I'mma add so much more to this.
I'm like infinitely more creative when I can play guitar and freeform something.
Writing midi for everything makes it hard to add expression (can't wait till i get a piano keyboard too, then I'll be making anything I'd want.)
