Another little easy groove.
Here I am still practicing with the synthesizers. I think this time I have nothing out of key, but if I am wrong please tell me! I have tried to have all the synths in the same interval (I'm trying to start getting the basic concepts of music theory, since I really have 0 idea), and make them progress slower so that nothing is out of place.
I guess the next step is to star trying to do some more chords over the mix so it doesn't feels this empty, but well, please tell me what you think about it! <3
yeah really nice man, agree with HTR sound design wise! :) I think the next step for you when it comes to synths is learning what all the different fx plugins do, i see youre using reverb/filters/compression which is a good start, but for example some subtle chorus and stereo-detune would work wonders on that main pad. Also i cant iterate enough about learning how to EQ properly, both attenuating and cutting freqs; are you familiar with the standard frequency chart?

Yes man that would be amazing! I've reciently moved to Next so that is not a problem! It's pretty late now, but any other day you have some spare time i would be more than happy to get a little lesson :)
Apr 14, 18
No worries dude, if you can use Next id be more than happy to set up a draft and run you through what everything is bit by bit :)

ok, i think I start getting what it is now.. gonna try and see it in the app now so i can actually understand it ;) cheers man, thanks a lot <3

To get started though I'd recommend looking up into the typical frequency ranges of certain instruments, i.e a snare, kick, bass, subbass, vocals (vocals are tricky to get the hang of, im only just getting the hang of them after like 6 years haha), other instruments like guitars, strings, brass (again tricky cause their dynamic range is pretty wide) and whatever else you can find. Once you get a firm grasp of where these things sit in a mix you'll be set! :)

So EQ has a few uses, you can use it to boost a certain bandwidth, or, group of frequencies (so that selected bandwidth becomes louder), or you can do the opposite and cut frequencies (you'd do this if you had some troublesome frequencies that dont belong in your mix, e.g the metallic sound from reverb, a thunky snare that has too many mids, or a resonant guitar etc etc)
Apr 14, 18
so how does one EQ, just limiting each sound to its proper EQ 'limits' (shown in that page)? I'm not sure I fully get it yet
Apr 13, 18
Also note at the bottom of the chart it outlines the frequencies, from 20Hz all the way up to 20,000kHz :)

hopefully this link'll work > http://www.independentrecording.net/irn/resources/freqchart/main_display.htm . Understanding the dynamic range of certain instrumentation will benefit your mixes greatly! Just sit down for a couple hours and mess with the fx pedals and see what each one does, how and why and how you can work it into a track. But good man im glad youre enjoying making this stuff, thats what production is all about ;)

Not really, i dont know much about EQ yet, never heard of the standaed frequency charts until now.. definetly need to get into that. And about the plugins, i only understand a few so far so I'm using them all the time.. definetly need to understand better what each one can offering to my track. Thanks a lot for the feedback man, loving to make this kind of tracks :)

"old school" vocals seemed a bit cheesy in my opinion i wouldn't have put vocal shouts on a track of this genre! other than that its really good, and again your style is really cool and unique!
Apr 13, 18
i always enjoy vocals to spice tracks up, but yeah this one in particular is kind of cheesy. I may try to make a more 'techno' vocal free sample.. thanks for the feedback
Apr 13, 18
Not bad! Your sound design is pretty impressive for someone who's new to production. The track is fairly quiet overall, but that's not too hard to fix. I don't listen to Acid House that much at all haha, so I'm not too helpful
Apr 13, 18
Thanks man! I need to start adding more chords maybe to make It a little more dinámica, but thanks for the feedback :)
Apr 12, 18
So how is it going with tuning your kicks ?
Apr 12, 18
Ok.
Apr 12, 18
I think I'm gonna leave thins song as It is and play with the kicks for a while on a draft so I can get how yo do It properly, I'll tell you when I get something done ;)
Apr 12, 18
Synths fit, but there is something odd about the melodies. Not sure what though
Apr 12, 18
mmm do you mean at any specific part of the track or at the whole thing?
Apr 12, 18
btw that blurry shadow in the cover is no other than myself lol
