Peace

Unfinished draft, ending was a nifty (tm) experiment. - - - - - - - Dismantled and salvaged, The ship is no more. Bulwark and mast, Its sails and its oars. The old captain mourns not, His memories remain, They'll not be forgot, They harbor no pain. The ship mourns not, For its passing's untrue, Its rope used for church bells, And the wood for pews. --- A year has gone by, The old captain has passed. He died in his sleep, Dreaming of ship and of mast. The crew reunites, A toast is proposed, "To the captain and ship, With peace may they go." The circle complete, Life's journey composed, Not a measure offbeat, Fate already knows. A life of time-wasting, Just killing hours, A meaningless endeavor, Stop, smell the flowers.
