I wasn't always a producer of electronic music, I started out as a bassist for a heavy metal band in the 1990s. This sat untouched in my drafts for a month or so, but the loss of a friend inspired me to publish it. This song is dedicated to my friend Thomas L. Sampson who passed away recently and was a great influence on my musical taste when I was young. Rest in peace Tom.

Great tribute, I think all or most of us started out listening to some other genre, probably also beat driven, or melodic. I started out with rock, then went to electronic music.
