ER: My brother invited me to this collab which began from just a melody that he was given permission to use from another artist... Then it turned into this fun masterpiece! It felt so good to collab with him after not collaborating for so long, we bounced ideas off of each other and often found we were on the same page with which directions we wanted the track to go, so it was such a breeze and a good time putting this together.
Side Note: My original arrangements of violin, pizzicato, one of the presets called "cliff dist", and my vocals, were all uploaded from Soundtrap. I tried to make these vocals sound decent enough but I'm aware they're sorta wonky.
NightWave:Thank you
@XyPhr
the melodies and chords. I saw so much opportunity so I took it and me and ER made an awseome sounding track. This might be one of my bests. Enjoy!
Thanks! And yeah, I wanted to fill the drop with random samples, I was specifically trying to find some sort of screech sample to fill in the space and happened to come across the monkey sample, and since I had no other ideas I was like "sure, why not" lmao
Lyrics are surprisingly clever. I like it. I can't tell you a lot about singing, but the mixing is great. Design is pretty basic, but pretty good all things considered. Might need a touch more reverb here and there. Very nice, I like this.
Alright, thanks for clarifying! I should be able to add more reverb on stuff easily, I guess it's just a matter of being able to decide when it's too much. I know in the past I've had comments on other stuff saying I'd put too much lol
First, always put a generous amount of verb on the vocals. Most sounds in the drop could use more, particularly the violin plucking. I personally put reverb on literally everything, even if it's just a little bit. Some people don't, but if you wanna sound like a pro, be sure to always put reverb on all of your synths, that way they will flow together much better and will sound a lot cleaner.
Oh hey, would you have a suggestion for what genre this fits under? Me and my bro had agreed to put it in "Other", but I can't help but feel like there might be a better genre that suits it that I don't have an idea about lol
Lol never mind about the wallet issue then. Just singing more often can help get that sweet, sweet sound. I’m in my school’s chapel choir so I’m privileged. I think what’s not working for me in the drop of the drums is probably the snare…
